RURAL MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-A looming land crisis has reportedly reached an alarming proportion between the Duncan Family and authorities of Montserrado County.

The disagreements intensified in recent days, following the designated site clearing of the county’s earth-moving equipment.

According to our Rural Montserrado County Correspondent, George Kollie, the Duncan Family is claiming the entire Bentol City, the political capital of Montserrado County, as their legal property purchased and deeded in 1890.

But in a counterclaim, Montserrado County Development Superintendent Lucia Tarpeh argued that the land belongs to the Liberian Government.

Superintendent Tarpeh expressed frustration over the unlawful land sales by unscrupulous individuals in an apparent attempt to cause undue land disputes.

Investigation continues.
