MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Bong County District Three Representative Marvin Cole has come under immense public pressure for recent statements regarding the investigation of former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor in the ongoing cocaine case.

During a public gathering in Bong County recently, Representative Cole termed the investigation involving the former Vice President as an attack on the Kpelleh people.

But residents of the county have condemned the statement, terming it divisive and saying it has the propensity to undermine the government’s fight against narcotic substances.

Our Correspondent quotes the residents as pledging support to the government’s fight against drugs.

In another development, the Director General of the Central Agriculture Research Institute (CARI), Dr. Bob Karnuah, is calling on staff of the institution to take their job serious.

Speaking during an ongoing research seminar in the county, Dr. Karnuah said:” If the institution must achieve its goals, it would depend on the seriousness of its staff”.
