GRAND GEDEH COUNTY, LIBERIA-Police in Grand Gedeh County have seized and burnt over 300 MP3 players and megaphones.

The routine exercise, in line with the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulations on noise pollution, aims to curb noise in communities.

The audio players and megaphones were seized from motorcyclists and those selling in the streets and marketplaces.

Our correspondent said that during the burning of the items on Wednesday, Grand Gedeh County Traffic Commander Moses Gbeyon called on community dwellers to work closely with the police to solve the problem.

He said, though there are challenges, especially in hard-to-reach places, the police will do all it can to make sure communities are free of noise pollution.
