MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Mines and Energy Minister Matenokay Tingban has emphasized zero tolerance for compromise in the implementation of the mandate of the “Protect Our Resources Task Force”.
The Task Force is empowered by Executive Order 167, issued by President Joseph Boakai recently.
Minister Tingban cautioned members of the enforcement team to remain professional and well-intentioned in their engagements with all stakeholders.
He made the statement during a consultative technical meeting centered on enforcing the mandate of the Task Force.
The meeting also advanced preparations for the full implementation of the Task Force’s national mandate to combat illicit mining, strengthen regulatory compliance, and protect Liberia’s mineral resources.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Task Force, Col. Abraham Kromah, outlined the Task Force’s work and the respective functions and responsibilities of the institutions that make up the multi-agency enforcement mechanism.
