Police Officer Allegedly Shoots Motorcyclist in Kanweaken

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A police officer, identified as Sergeant Marcus Beweh, is under investigation for allegedly shooting a motorcyclist on Wednesday in Kanweaken, River Gee County.     

 Our Correspondent said an argument erupted when a motorcyclist, Sam Sannoh, parked within the pathway of Sergeant Beweh.

According to the report, the victim allegedly refused to move to clear the way, allowing the police officer to leave.

Eyewitnesses said the situation escalated into a conflict, causing the officer to allegedly shoot the motorcyclist in the thigh and injuring another.

The victims were taken to Fish Town Referral Hospital, where they are undergoing medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Police Commander for River Gee County, Theophilus Togba, confirmed that the officer has been disarmed and placed in custody, while the investigation is underway.
