The Montserrado County Legislative caucus wants the LFA to explain to them more about the staging of the annual Montserrado County District Football tournament.
Montserrado County District 17 Representative Benard Benson at the weekend called for a postponement to the tournament, while at the same time asking his colleagues to invite the LFA to explain how the FA expended the money from the previous tournament.
Representative Benson said the request for the lawmakers to shoulder the responsibility of the Montserrado County District League is unacceptable.
The District 17 Lawmaker and other Lawmakers want the LFA to subsidize the tournament as they believe the LFA has the money to do so.
Representative Benson accused the LFA of corruption, adding that the Football House accrued huge revenue from previous tournaments but failed to provide the districts money for the tournament.
He added that as Lawmakers, they are spending lots of money to cater to other initiatives in their respective districts; as such, they cannot give money to the LFA District League.
Meanwhile, sources at the Liberia Football Association say the local FA has not received any invitation from the Montserrado County Legislative Caucus or any member of the caucus.

The LFA also gave two hundred fifty thousand Liberian dollars to the winning district, while the runners-up collected one hundred fifty thousand Liberian dollars.
The Montserrado County District tournament is free of registration.
