Fmr. Pres. Johnson-Sirleaf Heads Liberian Delegation to Namibia…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is heading a high-power Liberian delegation to Namibia to attend that country’s President-elect inauguration.

Madam Sirleaf, along with Liberia’s Ambassador at Large, Charles Snetter, Joyce Mendscole, and others are representing President Joseph Boakai at the inauguration of President Elect-Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

In a Foreign Ministry release, President-elect Nandi-Ndaitwah, 72, of the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO), won the elections in November with over 57 percent of the votes.

According to the release, the Special Envoy is also using the occasion as a medium to vigorously campaign for Liberia’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.
