World Bank Delegation Visits Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A high-power visiting delegation from the World Bank has met and held discussions with President Joseph Boakai on the grounds of the Executive Mansion.

The visit which took place on Monday, January 13, 2025, is, among other things, intended to strengthen ongoing collaboration in the improvement of Liberia’s Energy Sector, as well as focusing on both the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

The two-day visit is being headed by the Vice President of the World Bank, Ousman Diagana, and assisted by Ethiopis Tafara, the Regional Vice President for Multilateral Investment.

According to Mr. Diagana, the visit further solidifies the cordial working relationship that has existed between Liberia and the Bank for several years now.

As part of the visit, the delegation will also inspect ongoing projects, including the Mount Coffee Hydro Powerplant, and Afropa Factory Liberia, thus showcasing the Bank’s investments in Liberia’s Energy Sector.
