Pres. Boakai Rallies Diaspora Community’s Support for Nat’l Dev.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai is rallying the support of the diaspora community in advancing national development.

President Boakai said:” The diaspora community, as a key development partner to Liberia’s growth, plays a crucial role in building a nation envisioned by all citizens.”

According to President Boakai, developing Liberia requires the collective efforts of every citizen, and as such, their contributions cannot be overemphasized.

The Liberian Leader was speaking in Paynesville City during an interactive meeting with members of the diaspora community on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

He, however, wants them to begin taking practical steps towards the improvement of citizens’ livelihood and the country, as well.

At the same time, the Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), Eugene Fahngon, has cautioned members of the diaspora community to begin returning home and partake in the country’s development process.

Mr. Fahngon said:” The diaspora community can meaningfully contribute towards accelerating economic and social growth in Liberia.”

The LBS Boss described the community as a major partner in impacting change and delivering the needed results to the Liberian people.

The Director General then lauded the diaspora community for its contributions over the years and urged the group to continue to buttress the government’s efforts in the development process of the country.

Meanwhile, members of the community have expressed interest in contributing to the socio-economic advancement of Liberia.

They believe that joining forces with the government is the surest way to attain development and improve the lives of ordinary people.

Members of the diaspora community then lauded the government for leading efforts in the creation of an enabling environment where businesses and investors will be encouraged to contribute to nation-building.

According to them, this is a crucial step towards the actualization of the government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
