Pres. Boakai Charges Public Officials to Execute with Highest Standards of Integrity

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has charged public officials to perform their duties with the highest standard of integrity and commitment as the Liberian Government strives to achieve its priorities captured in the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).

President Boakai also admonished ministries and heads of agencies and commissions of the Government to lead with utmost accountability and transparency and their respective entities.

The Liberian Leader made the remarks at the signing of the Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS) contract in Monrovia on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

President Boakai described the ceremony as a declaration of the government’s determination to transform the lives of the people through effective and efficient service delivery.

According to the Liberian Leader, the PMCS will equip the government with the requisite tools to plan better, measure progress more effectively, and hold public officials accountable for results.

At the same time, President Boakai said government is about delivering results that improve the lives of the people as opposed to making empty promises.

He said:” The PMCS will set the fundamentals to shift how the government delivers on its promises made to the people, and the framework will ensure that the government continuously monitors and evaluates the progress against those targets captured in the AAID. The system will also allow the government to respond proactively when challenges arise, ensuring that all the needs and aspirations of the Liberian people are achieved.”

President Joseph Boakai then lauded the support of the Cabinet Secretariat and PMCS Technical Working Group for demonstrating a strong commitment to the actualization of the initiative.

Meanwhile, the UN Resident Coordinator, Christine Umutoni, has described the signing of the contract as a major milestone towards the journey of a transparent and accountable government.

Madam Umutoni said:” This ceremony demonstrates the Liberian Government’s dedication and collective efforts to deliver an effective and efficient public service that benefits the people.”

According to the UN Resident Coordinator, the signing of the PMCS signifies an important phase in the democratic process that guarantees that the work of the government aligns with the needs of every citizen.

Madam Umutoni lauded the government for the bold steps taken in bringing leadership to the people.
