Pres. Boakai honored By Kenema Citizens in Sierra Leone

KENEMA, SIERRA LEONE-President Joseph Boakai has described the honor bestowed upon him by the people of Kenema as a demonstration of unity and friendship.

President Boakai said:” The recognition signifies the strong bilateral ties subsisting between the citizens of Sierra Leone and Liberia. I urge you, especially the young people, to pursue education in leading a path of development in the area.”

The President, reflecting on his childhood days in Kenema, recounted on how the area played a major role in his upbringing.

President Boakai then lauded the citizens of Kenema for the warm reception and promised to continuously be a strong supporter of activities that promote education, peace and reconciliation.

The Liberian Leader was recognized on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in a program held in his honor for his contribution to the improvement of the people’s lives.

The citizens also lauded the Liberian Leader for demonstrating high level of dedication to further strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

Speaking on behalf of the people, the Mayor of Kenema, Thomas Bayo, said:” President Boakai’s support to uplifting the lives of the ordinary people cannot be overemphasized. The people have been motivated by the President Boakai’s journey to success, and I am encouraging you to strive for excellence.”

The Kenema City Mayor, however, cautioned the people of Kenema to work together in moving the city forward.
