Liberia’s Executive Presents 2025 Draft Nat’l Budget to Nat’l Legislature

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Branch of the Liberian Government has presented the 2025 Draft National Budget in the tone of 851.8 million US Dollars to the National Legislature.

According to a Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT) Release recently, the budget was presented to the Presiding Officer of the House of Representatives through the Chief Clerk on Monday, November 18,2024.

The release says the Draft National Budget captures appropriations aimed at delivering on key priorities of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, as well as addressing debt service and other obligations of the Government of Liberian.

In the release, President Joseph Boakai urged the lawmakers to exert efforts towards ensuring timely consideration and approval of the National Budget to ensure effective and efficient execution beginning January 2025.

The submission of the 2025 Draft National Budget is in compliance with Section 17.1 of the 2019 Amendment and Restatement of the Public Financial Management Act of 2009.
