Violent Storm leaves Several Persons Homeless in Nimba County

NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Dozens of families have been forced to leave their homes, after violent storm destroyed several houses in Gbor Dehvon Town, District Four in Nimba County.

The damaged structures include homes, town hall, a school annex and church, among others.

Gbor Dehvon General Town Chief, Alvin Gonkarnue, is quoted as saying the storm victims are seeking shelter with relatives and neighbors.

Chief Gonkarnue said:” The situation has affected the livelihood of residents and hampered education and economic activities in the area.”

Meanwhile, Gbor Dehvon General Town Chief is appealing to the National Disaster Management Agency, humanitarian organizations and good will individuals to intervene.
