LP Political Leader and Chairman agrees to resolve alleged Party’s constitution tempering

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Political Leader and Chairman of the Liberty Party (LP) have reportedly agreed to cooperate and deal with the substantive issues relating to alleged tempering of the Party’s constitution.

A Liberty Party release issued Sunday, August 29,2021, is also quoted as saying Senator Nyonblee Kangar-Lawrence and Musa Bility have expressed their willingness to resolve the ongoing impasse in the Party.

The Liberty Party has recently been rocked by internal crisis after Senator Kangar-Lawrence accused Chairman Bility of altering the Party’s adopted constitution. Mr. Bility denies any wrongdoing.

The release said a seven member committee is being constituted to investigate the matter and report findings to the National Advisory Council in one week.

Prior to the investigation, both parties were made to sign a Memorandum of Understanding that compels them to accept any outcome of the investigation.

Meanwhile, the National Advisory Council of the Liberty Party has warned against taking the Party’s internal matter to the public.
