MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Education Minister, Dr. Jarso Jallah, has challenged fourteen agriculture teachers leaving for advanced training in Ghana to return and transform Liberia’s technical vocational education sector.

Speaking at a pre-departure ceremony on Thursday, September 17, 2026, Minister Jallah said:” The one-year training goes beyond professional development, describing it as a vital investment in Liberia’s agricultural future”.

She stressed that technical vocational education can bridge the gap between academic learning and practical skills, empowering students to build livelihoods and strengthen local economies.

Dr. Jallah cautioned the teachers to honor their contractual obligations, emphasizing that the government expects them to return, share their knowledge, and contribute meaningfully to national development. She urged the teachers to remain curious, open-minded, and visionary throughout the training, adapting modern agricultural techniques into practical classroom lessons and community projects.

A beneficiary of a one-year advanced agriculture training in Ghana has pledged that the fourteen selected teachers will return with skills to make Liberia proud.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Madam Tita Yah Dolo of Nimba County thanked the Ministry of Education, donors and partners for providing the scholarship opportunity.

She said:” The teachers are not traveling for personal advancement alone but to gain practical knowledge that can contribute to Liberia’s agricultural development”.

Madam Tita Dolo noted that the training will provide practical agricultural experience that many teachers have not fully acquired locally, describing the opportunity as an important advantage.

She expressed excitement about returning to Liberia to share the knowledge gained and help strengthen agricultural education for students and communities.
