Pres. Weah hails “One China Policy”…….

PAYNESVILLE, LIBERIA-President George Weah says Liberia’s commitment to the ‘One China Policy” is being transformed into tangible national development.

President Weah said:” The Chinese Government has, over the years, contributed in several areas in Liberia, including health, agriculture and infrastructure.”

The Liberian Leader spoke on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, when the Chinese Government donated a consignment of medical equipment to the Liberian Government in Paynesville City, outside Monrovia.

President Weah appreciated the bond of friendship between Liberia and China, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia.

The Liberian Leader particularly paid special tribute to Chinese President, Xi Jinping, for his unwavering support to Liberia and its people.

Items donated include one-hundred-eighty ventilators, fifty oxygen concentrators, over one-thousand full face masks and one-hundred thermometers, among others.

At the same time, Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah has praised the coordination between Liberia and Chinese Health Authorities.

Dr. Jallah said:” Liberia’s successful fight against COVID-19 can also be accredited to the Chinese Government for its constant engagement.”

According to her, Chinese Health Authorities offered to guide Liberian Health Authorities through video conferences and medical supplies, during the peak of the pandemic.

She assured that the ventilators will be distributed among health facilities that lack ventilators and other medical items.

The Ministry of Health, meanwhile, has taken delivery of the medical equipment pending distribution.
