PUL Condemns Alleged Monrovia City Police Officers Flogging of Online TV Man

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Press Union of Liberia has strongly condemned the alleged flogging of the CEO of Liberia’s Vision Online, TV J Max – Autoway Bill Diggs by officers of the Monrovia City Police.

Mr. Diggs has accused City Police officers assigned at the home of Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee of allegedly brutalizing him, leaving him with serious bodily injuries.

According to the victim, he was brutalized for reportedly parking his vehicle in the Mayor’s drive way.

The PUL has described the attack on Mr. Diggs as inhumane and an abuse of the power ascribed on them by the act creating the MCC police.

Meanwhile, the Press Union of Liberia has welcomed the decision of Mayor Jefferson Koijie to forward those accused of the brutality to the Liberia National Police for Investigation.

PUL President Charles Coffey is at the same time calling on the police to speedily investigate the matter to bring the perpetrators to justice.
