Education Ministry Begins Distribution of COVID-19 Health Kits to High Schools Across Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA –The Ministry of Education has begun the distribution of COVID-19 health kits and educational materials to high schools across Liberia.

The materials were provided by UNICEF to be used by 12th graders while in school. The kits project caused US$7million, is intended to enhance the fight against the CoronaVirus.

UNICEF Deputy Country Representative, Samuel Mawunganidze, said the gesture is also intended to keep the students safe while in school.

Launching the program Thursday, July 16, 2020, Education Minister, Ansu Sonii, disclosed that the ministry is working out modalities for the re-opening of all schools as no one knows when the global pandemic will be eradicated.

Minister Sonii urged school authorities to ensure that the materials received are used for the intended purpose. Story By Steven Dorbor
