MAGISTRATE VICTORIA GBALEZEH ORDERED NOT TO PRESIDE OVER DUO MAGISTERIAL COURT

MONROVIA, LIBERIA: Associate Justice, Yusuf Kaba, has ordered the Magistrate of Duo Magisterial Court in Nimba County, Victoria Gbalezeh, to refrain from presiding over the Court.

Front Page Africa, on May 25, 2020, reported that a 40-year-old man had reportedly gone missing, while in detention at the Duo Magisterial Court, presided over by Magistrate Gbalezeh.

Suspect Prince Zogbaye was reportedly taken to the Court, based on a complaint filed by a 14-year-old boy, alleging that Zogbaye had threatened to kill him.

According to the reports, suspect Zogbaye was in the custody of Magistrate Gbalezeh on May 10, 2020, before he allegedly went missing and is yet to be found.

A letter from the Judiciary Inquiry Committee instructed Magistrate Gbalezeh to file her reaction within seven working days, considering the seriousness of the allegation in the complaint.
