MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has created temporary jobs for more than four hundred Liberians through the National Digital Postal Address System (NDPAS) project.
The ministry says the initiative will provide unique digital addresses for homes, businesses, and public institutions to improve postal services, emergency response, e-commerce, and public service delivery.
The project has begun in Montserrado County, where over 300 temporary workers have been deployed to conduct digital address mapping, priority identification, and data collection.
The nationwide rollout will continue in all fifteen counties, with Bong, Nimba, Lofa, and Grand Bassa Counties expected to begin implementation in the coming days.
The ministry is therefore calling on citizens to cooperate with the nationwide exercise.
Meanwhile, Post and Telecommunications Minister, Sekou Kromah, says the system will help emergency responders, including the police, fire service, and health workers, quickly locate homes and businesses during emergencies.
Minister Kromah encouraged citizens to download the National Digital Postal Address System mobile application to access the new system.
Meanwhile, Minister Sekou Kromah said,” The initiative will also improve revenue collection, support businesses, and eventually be expanded to all counties across Liberia”.
