MONROVIA. LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has officially launched the literary book, ‘Generational Shift’ in Monrovia.
The book aims to transform the African mindset and cultivate a culture of new ideas for development.
The literary piece was launched on behalf of President Boakai by Ambassador at Large Ora Richards.
Ambassador Richards described the book as a movement that inspires Liberians to embrace change and work towards building a prosperous future.
The Ambassador highlighted the significance of the book to breaking the culture of dependency on foreign nations and developing a mindset that Africans can change the fate of the Continent.
She acknowledged the author’s contributions to reshaping ideas that align with the government’s development priorities.
For his part, the author of the literary book, Kenety Gee, admonished Africans, particularly Liberians, to begin taking practical steps that aim to improve livelihood and expand development.
Gee said,” If Liberia must develop, Liberians must first change their mindset and begin to redirect their efforts on activities that tend to impact lives and bring about long-term growth”.
According to him, the country is endowed with natural resources, but until Liberians begin to see the country as their own and take a keen interest in its progress, citizens will continue to live a dependent life.
He, however, urged citizens, especially the youthful population, to remain patriotic in their undertakings, noting that doing so will not stimulate growth but will also bring about lasting development.
