Police Investigates Suspicious Death of 21-Year-Old Man in Grand Gedeh County

GRAND GEDEH COUNTY, LIBERIA-Police are investigating the suspicious death of a twenty-year-old man in Bah Town, Grand Gedeh County.

Archibald Gaye reportedly drowned while swimming with his friends in the Cestos River early on January 2, 2026

Our correspondent said the deceased and his friends were swimming when he eventually drifted away from them and could not be seen.

His friends and townpeople discovered his body early Sunday morning at the foot of the river with parts believed to be eaten by fish, after a thorough search.

The late Archibald was an 11th grade student who had gone to spend the festive season with his parents, where he meets up with his demise.

Meanwhile, the body of Archibald has been turned over to his family and has since been buried.
