Agric. Ministry, Partners Found “Seed for Liberia” Project

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Agriculture and partners have established the Seed for Liberia project to strengthen the Agriculture Sector.

The seed for the Liberia project is an EU-sponsored initiative intended to transform the sector and produce standard and quality seeds for Liberian farmers.

Deputy Agriculture Minister for Technical Services, Solomon Hedd-Williams, said the seed project is also a component of the national agriculture development plan for the country.

Speaking to ELBC on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Paynesville, Minister Hedd Williams said,” It will build a strong local seed system for the farmers to produce more food”.

He said as a result, a seed development and certification agency, along with two other groups, have been set up at the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure its productivity.
