Faith and Justice Network Commends Pres. Boakai for Issuing Executive Order 151…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Board of Directors of the Faith and Justice Network (FJN) has commended President Joseph Boakai for issuing Executive Order 151 on the local processing of rubber in Liberia.

Speaking over the weekend, Rev. Tolbert Jallah, the Regional Executive Director of Faith and Justice Network (FJN), said,” The step by the President marks a defining moment in the nation’s pursuit of economic sovereignty, job creation, and sustainable development”.

Rev. Jallah said,” Liberia’s vast natural wealth, including rubber, gold, iron ore, timber, and fertile soil, has enriched foreign interests while the majority of the country’s citizens remain in poverty”.

He stressed that as faith leaders, the institution fully recognizes that the extraction and export of Liberia’s resources without local transformation is not only a development issue but a moral and ethical crisis.

The Faith and Justice Network also reaffirmed its principle that Liberians must come first in the benefits of Liberia’s natural wealth.

Meanwhile, the Board of Directors of Faith and Justice Network has called on all relevant institutions, including the Ministries of Commerce and Agriculture, the Liberia Rubber Development Authority, among others, to implement the Executive Order with integrity, transparency, and nationalistic commitment.
