Six Schools Battle for OCM 1 Million LRD Quizzing Prize

Monrovia Saturday, June 14, 2025 – Six schools are set to battle it out for the grand prize of the annual quizzing competition, organized under the sponsorship of Dr. Thomas Nimene Tweh, Jr.

The six schools, representing six counties, will compete for the championship and a chance to pocket a grand cash prize of one million Liberian Dollars.

Over 50 schools participated in the zonal and regional rounds of the competition which witnessed teams testing their knowledge under pressure.

The six schools are Sheilah Love Foundation School, Margibi County, St. Peter Claver Catholic School, Grand Bassa County, Tieni Wiene Public School, Grand Cape Mount County, Eric Scott United Methodist School, Gbarpolu County, Howard Academy, Montserrado County and St. Dominic Catholic School, Bomi County.

The academic hostilities will kick off on Friday, June 27 and concludes on Saturday, June 28 in Monrovia.

In a statement, the event sponsor, Dr. Thomas Nimene Tweh, alias Original Country Man, said the competition underscores in ongoing commitment to education, youth development, and national academic advancement.

According to him, the success of this year’s competition stands as a beacon for what can be achieved when passion meets purpose.

The CMFI Bilingual International School of Montserrado County is the defending Champions of the competition, having won the grand prize last year.
