Int’l Federation of Red Cross Provides over $500,000 USD…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The International Federation of the Red Cross has provided over five hundred thousand US Dollars to the Liberia National Red Cross Society.

The fund is to support persons affected by the recent devastating flooding in Montserrado, Bong, and Grand Cape Mount Counties.

The Secretary General of the Liberia National Red Cross Society, Gregory Blamoh, said:” The National Disaster Relief Emergency Fund of the Federation provided the money.”

Mr. Blamoh disclosed that the European Union in Liberia contributed over one hundred thousand USD to the Federation’s Disaster Relief Emergency Fund.

The Liberia Red Cross General Secretary said one thousand five hundred families affected in thirty communities in the three flood-affected counties will be targeted, as well as four hundred families whose houses were affected during the flooding.
