Labor Minister Mandates Bea Mountain Company…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Labor Ministry has mandated Bea Mountain Company in Grand Cape Mount County to reinstate all workers with unexpired contracts with immediate effect.

A release quotes Labor Minister, Cllr. Cooper Kruah, has ordered the reinstatement of the workers to their previous positions.

Minister Kruah also urged the Company to cease the ongoing actions to terminate workers’ contracts and ensure that future actions related to employment status are in line with Labor Laws and Regulations.

The Minister is calling on the Company to comply with the directives, expressing the Government of Liberia’s willingness to use dialogue as the best mechanism for resolving all labor-related industrial disputes.

Recently, the Bea Mountain Company was hit by a wave of industrial unrest for what residents called a ‘lack of social benefits from the Company’s operations.”
