MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Swedish Ambassador to Liberia has challenged the National Youth Taskforce against Elections Violence, and to hold political parties and individuals accountable to peace sustenance.

The Taskforce comprises Federation of Liberian Youth, Messengers of Peace, Mano River Union Youth Parliament, YMCA and the Liberia National Student Union (LINSU).

Speaking at the launch of the Taskforce on Monday, April 3, 2023, in Paynesville, Ambassador Urban Sjostrum urged the youth organizations to remind political leaders about their commitment to peaceful elections.

The Swedish Ambassador called on young people to leverage their population dominance for leaders to prioritize youth issues through dialogues.

Ambassador Urban Sjostrom said:” The 2023 elections is another critical test for Liberia’s democratic maturity, and young people to prioritize peace over violence.”
