Gov’t to introduce Pay-slips for Civil Servants

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government, through the Inter-Agency Payroll Verification Team, is to shortly introduce pay-slips for all civil servants.

According to the Liberian Government, the introduction of pay-slips is part of effort to make the payroll more transparent, as it will reveal the gross salary and allowances for all civil servants.

Civil Service Agency Director General James Thompson made the disclosure during Wednesday’s Special MICAT Press Briefing in Monrovia.

Mr. Thompson said: “Government has been able to make the payroll available for audit and transparency, though there are difficulties in system management.”

Also speaking, Liberia’s Comptroller General, Janga Kowo, said:” Government‘s management of the payroll system has made salaries coming on time and caused reduction in the National Wage Bill.”
