MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has reaffirmed Liberia’s solidarity with the Government and people of Ukraine, amid ongoing invasion by Russia.

President Weah’s strong commitment was contained in his congratulatory message to the Government and people of Ukraine, on the occasion marking the Country’s National Day on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

According to a Foreign Ministry released issued recently, President Weah extended sincere best wishes to his Ukranian Counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky and to the Government and people of Ukraine.

The Liberian Leader said:” As Ukraine celebrate amid invasion, which has since devastated the Country, the Government and people of Liberia sympathize with President Zelensky and the people of Ukraine.”

President Weah said:” My Government remains steadfast in its commitment to stand in the fight to defend the territorial integrity and freedom of Ukraine.”

The Liberian Leader then recalled Ukraine’s enormous contributions to Liberia, reiterating that under the administration, the relations between Ukraine and Liberia are very cordial.
