Dr. Kateh pleads with striking health workers to return to work

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chief Medical Officer of Liberia is appealing to striking health workers in Sinoe County to abandon their strike action and return to work.

ELBC Sinoe County Correspondent had earlier reported an ongoing strike by health workers in the County, demanding, among other things, their placement on the payroll of the Liberian Government.

But speaking on the Super Morning Show on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, Dr. Francis Kateh said:|”Health  workers must consider the oath they took and avoid the loss of lives caused by their action.”

Dr. Kateh confirmed that assurances were to the health workers about being placed on Government’s payroll, but said such effort requires time.

According to him, the Ministry of Health is working with the Ministry of Finance to pay serious attention to its budget, in an effort to address issues of health workers across the Country.
