MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Branch of Government has asked the National Legislature to aid in the process of limiting tax waiver.

President George Weah made the appeal Monday, January 25, 2022, when he delivered his Fifth State of the Nation Address at the National Legislature at the Capitol, in Monrovia.

President Weah said:” The Country, for the last three years, lost about three-hundred-million United States Dollars.”

The Liberian Leader stated that, while duty free privileges and incentives are important to realizing development, Government has been very generous to that effect over the years.

He said:” The success of the new budget depends on strong revenue measures and timely tax payment by citizens.”

According to the President, this year the Government will be more vigorous in its domestic resource mobilization measures, through the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).
