MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Ghanaian authorities have given Liberian refugees at the Buduburam Camp additional three months to leave the camp.

The Ghanaian government had planned to demolish the camp by the start of this month after an initial ultimatum expired on September thirty.

Speaking with this station Wednesday, the head of the Liberia Refugees Repatriation and Resettlement Commission Rev. Festus Logan lauded President George Weah for his intervention.

Rev. Logan said with the time extended, there are ongoing discussions with the UN Refugee Agency and Ghanaian Authorities on the next plans.

He however encouraged the Liberian refugees, who have not registered for local integration to use the grace period and start returning home.

In a recent interview with Ghanaian media, the refugees maintained that that they will not leave the camp until Ghanaian authorities meet what they called three durable solutions under international refugee conventions.

The solutions are voluntary repatriation, reintegration and resettlement.
