LEC to embark on massive disconnection of illegal connections, delinquent customers

MONROVIA, LIBERIA- The Liberia Electricity Corporation is to carry out massive disconnection of illegal connections and delinquent customers.

The mandate was given to the LEC Management by the company’s Board of Directors following a meeting on Wednesday.

The LEC Board, Chaired by former Foreign Minister Monie Captan, has mandated the management to rigorously embark on the process without fear or favor.

The Board further directed the LEC management to investigate all accusations brought against LEC employees from the public.

It also called for the establishment of a whistle blower policy that will lead to the arrest of unscrupulous persons that continue to facilitate illegal connections at the LEC.
