Aggrieved NTA workers Monday endures another protest in demand of salary

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The National Transit Authority (NTA) Monday endured another protest by aggrieved workers in demand of salary and arrears.

The protest comes few days after NTA Managing Director; Herbie McCauley told ELBC that his employees were receiving their arrears.

The protesting workers Monday, August 9, 2021, blocked the entrance of the institution with the NTA buses, thus paralyzing normal activities.

Mediation efforts by the Transport Minister, Samuel Wlue at the Protest scene failed.

The striking Workers accused Minister Wlue of downplaying their grievances after they had earlier engaged him on several occasions.

Police during the demonstration, used tear gas to disburse the protesters who were chanting “we want our pay and better working condition.
