Pres. Weah dismisses Deputy Info. Minister for Public Affairs

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has dismissed Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs with immediate effect.

Minister Eugene Fahngon was dismissed for spreading false information regarding the Liberian Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic currently ravaging the Country.

The Liberian Leader has warned that he will not hesitate to take similar action against any other official of Government engaged in activities that undermine established Government policy.

Meanwhile, President Weah has nominated Jarlawah Tonpo as Deputy In formation Minister for Public Affairs.

Mr. Tonpo was named on Tuesday, June 23,2021, to replace dismissed dismissed Deputy Information Minister Eugene Fahngon.

Mr. Tonpo currently serves as Director of Press and Public Affairs at the Liberian Senate.

According to an Executive Mansion Release issued Tuesday, June 23,2021, the nomination is subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.
