Pres. wants intensive effort to protect children against Child Labor

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah is calling for concerted effort in protecting children against all sorts of abuse and exploitation.

President Weah made specific mention of child labor, which is an issue of concern to the Government of Liberia.

The Liberian Leader said the Government recognizes that child labor and other risky jobs done by children often deprive them of their dignity, rights to education and health.

President Weah’s statement was contained in a special statement issued in a release Monday, June 14, 2021, in commemoration of this year’s World Day against Child Labor.

The President wants all relevant actors and stakeholders to coordinate efforts and mobilize the needed resources in ensuring that no child is a victim of child labor.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labors and partners held appropriate programs befitting the day, under the global theme:” Act Now to End Child Labor”.
