Liberia joins the world to observe World Malaria Day

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia is today joining the rest of the world in commemorating World Malaria Day.

April 25 of each year is celebrated as World Malaria Day, since it was established by the 60th Session of the World Health Assembly in May 2007.

A Health Ministry release issued over the weekend said because the day fells on Sunday, it is observing the day Monday, April 26, 2021, with activities, including house to house malaria and COVID-19 awareness, and talk show on malaria prevention.

The World Malaria Day was endorsed by the 194th Session of WHO  member states to globally draw attention to financial and technical support for anti-malaria campaigns.

The global theme for this year’s World Malaria Day is; Zero Malaria-Draw the Line against Malaria.
