Gender Ministry praises First Lady for constructing Elderly Home

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Gender has extolled Liberia’s First Lady, Ambassador Clar Marie Weah, for constructing a thirty- bedroom facility for the Elderly in Grand Buchanan, Grand County.

The Decontee Home of the Elderly was constructed through the Clar Hope Foundation.

In a release issued Thursday, April 22, 2021, the Gender Ministry said:” The facility will solve the problem of homelessness that the elderly often have to grapple with in Buchanan.”

It also believes the thirty self-contained rooms in the home will provide much needed durable housing security for elderly homeless people.

The Ministry said it is particularly pleased by the timely gesture of the First Lady, because such initiative aligns with its mandate of ensuring protection and care for vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
