Liberia’s Foreign Minister says the Country stands ready to host the Mano River Union Summit

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah says Liberia is fully prepared to host the Mano River Union (MRU) Summit, scheduled for May 20 to the 30th, 2021.

Minister Kemayah said:” President George Weah is fully supportive of the coming Summit.”

He made the disclosure recently when the Secretary General of the MRU, Ambassador Medina Wesseh paid him a courtesy call to discuss issue relating to the Mano River Basin.

Minister Kemayah lauded Guinean President Alpha Conde, the current Chairman of the MRU, for accepting President Weah’s request to host the MRU Summit in Liberia.

For her part, Madam Wesseh thanked the Foreign Minister and the Liberian Government for convincing MRU Leaders to hold the Summit in Liberia.

She called on both the Ministries of Finance and Development Planning and Foreign Minister to coordinate activities, as part of preparation for the upcoming MRU Summit.
