Coastal Communities In Sinoe County To Benefit From A USD$ 9 Million Anti-Sea Erosion Project……..

Coastal Communities in Sinoe County are expected to benefit from a 9 million United States dollar anti-sea erosion project.

The project will see coastal defense walls being built in Greenville, Baffordbay, and a portion of Dugba District.

The Liberia News Agency quotes Sinoe County Development Superintendent Barbara Kieh as saying, funding for the project is being provided by the United Nations Development Program.

Assistant Superintendent Kieh said the Environmental Protection Agency has already conducted an assessment of the project sites in the county.

Sea erosion has been a long-standing threat to people living in coastal communities across Liberia and the latest intervention will breathe a sigh of relief to residents of targeted areas.
