54th Nat’l Legislature resumes today

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The 54th National Legislature is expected to resume normal legislative activities for the Fourth Sitting today, January 11, 2021.

According to ELBC Legislative Reporter, the return of the august body followed the completion of its constituency break.

Article 32 of the Liberian Constitution provides that the National Legislature shall assemble in regular session once a year, on the Second Working Monday in January.

Our Reporter quoting protocols from the National Legislature, said members of the House of Representatives and Senate, including the President of the Senate, will salute the Liberian flag and pledge allegiance to the Country as part of the ceremony.

According to the protocol, members of both houses will parade to their respective chambers for formal separate opening ceremonies
