MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Mighty Barrolle Sunday suffered their first defeat of the season as they were beaten by Freeport FC in match-day activities as the LFA Orange National League heats up.

The Red Boys lost the game in the last seven minutes of the match, as Freeport FC scored two fast goals in the 84th and 86th minutes to take home all three points.

After a tough seventy minutes of football, where the two sides created and wasted chances, Freeport FC took charge of proceedings on the pitch following some reinforcements.

Jonathan Eke and Emmanuel Francis’ introduction brought life to the attack of Freeport FC. Their introduction paid off well as they got a goal each to inspire Freeport FC to a 2-0 win.

Emmanuel Francis gave Freeport FC the lead in the 84th minute before Jonathan Eke added a second just two minutes later.

It was Freeport FC’s first clean sheet of the season which sees them moved up in third on the Orange First Division League table with ten points, four behind leaders, Nimba Kwado.

Freeport FC ended that game down to ten-men after Derrick Weah was shown a red card in the 90th minute.

The defeat for Barrolle was a shock to many especially at a time when Mighty Barrolle have begun raising their own momentum in the league.

The recent performances of the Rollers have begun bringing the Red faithful back to cheer and support the club.

Evidence of this is the recent 22 seated bus donation to the Mighty Barrolle by the Mano Manufacturing Company Inc. The defeat comes after the Rollers advanced to the next round of the Petro Trade cup during midweek.
