US Ambassador Christine Elder Ends Tour of Duty in Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia – United States Ambassador to Liberia, Christine Elder, has ended her mission as Ambassador to Liberia.

Ambassador Elder departed Liberia on Saturday, March 21 after nearly four years of service in Liberia.

During her tenure, Ambassador Elder oversaw the U.S diplomatic engagements with Liberia and foreign assistance.

A United States Embassy release quotes Ambassador Elder as appreciating the Government and people of Liberia for the level of cooperation during her tenure.

However, Ambassador Elder expressed regret for departing the Country urgently due to the existing medical condition in the Country.

According to her, the U.S Mission in Liberia will continue to deepen ties and meet challenges in all areas including the global health threats.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of Mission, Alyson Grunder, will serve as Chargé d’affaires until a new U.S Ambassador is confirmed.
