Gov’t, WFP Set to Implement US50 Million Strategic Plan

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Liberian Government says it is working along with the World Food Program(WFP) to implement of a US50 Million strategic plan.

Assistant Finance Minister Benedict Kolubah said Home Grown School Feeding Program and Disaster Management, among others are important components in the strategic plan.

Minster Kolubah made the comments Thursday when WFP donated a consignment of assorted agro-machines, vehicles, desktop computers, generators, and motorized water pumps to Government.

The donation worth more than US150,000 as part of the country capacity strengthening support of the WFP.

Meanwhile, Deputy Agriculture Minister Robert Fagans re-iterated the President’s commitment to prioritizing the Agriculture sector for national growth and development.

Meanwhile,the Officer-in- Charge of the World Food Program-Liberia, AaronSleh,said government is a dependable partner in the execution of development programs in Liberia.

Mr. Sleh said agriculture remains a major sector the WFP and Government are collaborating to improve for the livelihoods of all Liberians.

The WFP-Liberia OIC said his Agency is currently implementing the Home Grown School Feeding Program to empower local farmers and keep children in classes.

Speaking Thursday when WFP donated a consignment of Agro-machines and other accessories, Mr. Sleh re-committed the Organization to support the Liberian Government.
