MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has called for an increase in French investment and cooperation in key sectors of Liberia’s governance structure.
President Boakai named trade and investment, renewable energy, infrastructure development, education, agriculture, and human capacity development as key areas of interest.
The Liberian Leader made the call on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, when he received the Letters of Credence from the new French Ambassador to Liberia, Dominique Pierre Delpuech.
President Boakai also recounted the enduring friendship and diplomatic ties that have subsisted between Liberia and France over the years.
Dating back to the 1800s, President Joseph Boakai emphasized the Liberian Government’s strong interest in elevating Liberia’s relations with France.
At the same time, the French Government has expressed its commitment to strengthening the already mutually beneficial relations between Liberia and France.
The commitment was re-echoed by incoming French Ambassador Dominique Pierre Delpuech.
During the brief ceremony, Ambassador Delpuech reassured the Liberian government of deepening bilateral relations and supporting Liberia’s new role as a member of the UN Security Council.
The new French Ambassador now replaces outgoing Ambassador Isabelle de Guellec, who recently concluded her tour of duty.
