Agatha Nimene begs Hat-Trick…as Liberia Women’s U-20 beat Guinea Women’s U-20

MONROVIA, LIBERIA (Kolubah Zayzay REPOPRTS)-Liberia’s young sensational female football star, Agatha Nimene, scored three times as newly founded Liberia Women’s U-20 defeated visiting Guinea Women’s U-20, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Central Monrovia.

Agatha opened her scoring as early as four minutes, when she curled in a set-piece from 28 yards.

She added a second eleven minutes later when she converted a penalty after Guinea defender handed the ball in the eighteen box.

The Blanco FC goal puncher completed her hat-trick in the fifty-first minute from another penalty following another handball by the Guinean defense.

Despite the 3-0 victory for Liberia women, Guinea dominated possession in most part of the match but struggled in their finishing and poor in defense.

The game which was a first leg match in the 2020 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup drew the largest crowd women football has ever witnessed in Liberia.

The turned out was higher than the U-17 game against Niger at the same venue.

Speaking to reporters following the win, the three goals hero, Agatha, said:” I came to the match with confidence that I will net in three or more goals.”

“I just had that confidence after challenging myself that I can do more than what Kieh did on the U-17 national team” Agatha said.

The return leg will come on February 1, 2020 in Conakry Guinea, with the aggregate winner facing Senegal in the second round.
