Prez. Weah lauds Liberia National Under-17 Female Team

MONROVIA LIBERIA (ELBC ONLINE Desk) – President George M. Weah has assured that Government is committed to the development of youth soccer will remain a top priority for his administration.

The Liberian leaders said: “We remain committed to nurturing the talents of the National Female Under-17 Team and will invest in their future. It is my fervent hope that this victory will serve as an inspiration to the girls as they prepare for the tasks ahead.”

The Chief Sports Patron therefore, has congratulated the Liberian National Female Under-17 Team squad following their 4-0 victory over Niger in the FIFA 2020 Under-17 World Cup qualifier at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on Sunday, January 12, 2020.

In his congratulatory message, President Weah thanked the teen age girls for putting on exceptional talents. “I am thrilled to congratulate our Under-17 National Female soccer Team for your splendid victory against the Republic of Niger earlier today.”

The Liberian Leader also placed emphases on the hard work done by the coaching staff for preparing the U17 girls to compete at the FIFA Woman U17 World Cup Qualifiers rounds.

“Congratulations also go to the coaches and technical staff for a job well done.This is a proud moment for all Liberians as this victory signifies the progress we have made towards the development of female soccer and in harnessing youths’ talents in general.”
