MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Office for the Establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court for Liberia and partners have concluded engagement with Liberians in The Gambia on Liberia’s transitional justice process.
The Women NGOs Secretariat of Liberia and the Federation of Liberian Youth are partnering with the Office for the Establishment of War and Economic Crimes Court in pursuit of justice.
The engagement in Senegambia provided updates on the proposed War and Economic Crimes Court and National Anti-Corruption Court, while members of the Liberian community also raised concerns about the progress of the proposed courts.
In a release, WONGOSOL stressed the need to include Liberians abroad in the transitional justice process, while the Federation of Liberian Youth called for greater youth involvement.
Responding, the Office for the Establishment of War and Economic Crimes Court for Liberia said:” The draft bills for the two courts have been submitted to the National Legislature for consideration”.
