MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission has begun regional consultations to develop a new civic and voter education strategy for Liberia.
The consultations are being held with support from development partners, including the European Union and the Government of Ireland.
The exercise is aimed at gathering views from stakeholders and communities across the country.
Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Daniel Sando, said:” It will help shape the Commission’s civic and voter education strategy for 2026 to 2030”.
He said the consultation is being held under the theme, “Building an Informed, Participatory, Inclusive and Engaged Citizenry for Sustainable Democracy.”
The regional consultations, which will continue in Buchanan, Robertsport, Gbarnga, and Harper, will help citizens understand their rights and responsibilities in the voting process.
Meanwhile, Minister Sando also said the process will ensure that communities outside Montserrado contribute to the national strategy.
